May long weekend brought Naomi and Christian (from Alberta) up to visit the town of Port Mcneill. With fishing on their mind. Christian and Naomi thought they would try their luck at catching an early spring salmon or halibut.

The weather was not exactly beautiful. It was a morning where you had to put on the rain gear first thing. The rain wasn’t a damper on the trip. They were well prepared. Christian even brought his own rain gear.

Christian had the east coast jig that no Tommy cod could resist!

Reeling up little guys kept the arms warmed up and ready to reel the big one. Just not today. Leaving the grounds having the halibut elude our prime bait and sharp hooks.

The crab pot fished well. Keeping four dungeness crabs per person, we did limit out on something!
