About Larry Weber, Head Guide

Larry’s passion is fishing. He began sport fishing at 9-years-old, growing up in Port Hardy where catching bullheads off the dock or salmon in the river was only a bike ride away. At 15, he began commercial salmon fishing and then learned to longline halibut, lingcod and rockfish.

As a people person, Larry always liked working with others and with his enthusiasm for fishing his idea for a charter business combined the best of both those worlds. He’s been living the dream ever since.

“The smiles, the reward, and the excitement never get old,” he says of a day out on the water with his charter guests. “It makes all the preparation and upkeep worth the effort, but most of all it’s about getting to share the sport I love with people who want to see what living on the pacific is all about.”

Larry’s goal as head guide of Leisure Suit Charters is to help guests get the most out of their sportfishing adventure. With his lifelong knowledge of the area, he has the inside scoop on all the local hot spots and is happy to share what he knows during guided excursions.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the sport, Larry will tailor your trip to suit your needs. He is also fully licensed, insured, and has current CPR and First Aid certification.

Larry has multiple fishing derby wins under his belt. From the Filomi Days derby in Port Hardy, in July 2010, to the Race for the Blue Tuna Fishing Derby in Tofino, Sept. 2019.

I joined Leisure Suit Charters to compete in the 7 day Race for the Blue offshore tuna fishing derby this September held by Tofino Resort and Marina. This was the most epic fishing experience of my life.
